The typeface posters are created to be a cohesive set, yet each poster is created it also be unique. Each poster focuses on a typeface and style from a different period. The Garamond poster reflects the style of early book design from the 14th century, the Helvetica poster is inspired by the International Typographic Style of the 1950s, and the Verdana poster follows the style of the New Wave design that was popular in the later 1900s. The posters are united through the color scheme of a neutral beige and red; red was chosen as the main color because it was utilized heavily throughout all of the time periods I covered. The elements that appear to be black in the poster are a very dark red in order to maintain a united color scheme. The posters are also united with elements of varying opacity, red uppercase letters as background elements, and large dark lowercase letters used in the title of each poster. All posters include the name of the typeface, the name of the designer, and a short paragraph summarizing the typeface’s history. The posters also include the full uppercase and lowercase alphabet and the full range of numbers to showcase each typeface.
